Handcrafted Artisan Soaps

Why Natural Soap?

What are the most significant differences between natural soap and commercial soap?

The two biggest differences are naturally retained glycerin in handcrafted soaps and a lack of detergents. All natural soap is made from a chemical reaction between water, lye, and fats/oils. Natural soap produces glycerin which draws moisture to itself and to your skin.  This is why natural soap does a better job at hydrating your skin and keeping it hydrated throughout the day. Using additional skin moisturizers is not as necessary when consistently washing with natural soap.  dTHREE Naturals soap is handcrafted in small batches using high quality ingredients and oils.

Commercial soaps are generally manufactured by combining chemicals, including petroleum and foaming agents.  This dehydrated mixture is then used in different applications for laundry, dish, and body soaps.  The glycerin is extracted for more profitable products such as moisturizers. There is an average of 10 steps from the original products to the end result. It can be confusing as these detergents are often packed to look like soap, with clever names such as  “body wash” or “facial bar”.  It can not legally be labeled as “soap”.
